My Tombow Swap

Now I can show you what I did for the Tombow swap, its on Graphic 45's Blog, special thanks to Candy for getting it up there for me. I used a Melissa Frances Envelope and Tags Book for my pages. The cover and base was just some chipboard that I covered with Graphic 45 papers. Each page is themed and the tag at the top pulls out. You can write quotes on it and when it's full, just add another one. I don't think of myself as a card lady. But each of these pages would make great cards. The photos don't show all the detail as I used lots of foam tape, so lots of bits and pieces are raised up. Just love making mini books. I have one being published soon in Scrapbooking Creations, this is a first time for me so I'm very excited.
Off to teach another class tonight
thanks for looking

More Graphic 45

I have added some more photos of a project I made as part of the design team call. The project is a box with an album inside. The box is made of one piece of paper folded to make the lid and one folded print paper for the base. I then made a fold out album for the inside. Each end of the album is attached to the lid and base. I do have an instruction sheet that I can email if any one wants to make the box. I am really loving my time with Graphic 45. The papers are amazing and I love working with them. I sent Candy my Tombow swap, so it should be on the Graphic 45 Blog soon. Once it is there I can put photos on my blog as well. I am very happy with the way it turned out. When you make something from scratch you are never sure if it will work the way you want it to. When it does work then its great, other wise you have to start again and keep working until its perfect! that's what I end up doing. So much for the quote on the wall in the workroom at the store "to be truly creative, you have to be prepared to make mistakes". All our ladies think the quote is for them, but its really for me!. I'm never happy with my work until its perfect (in my eyes).
Thanks for taking the time to read my waffle as my Hubby calls it!

Our First Male

We had our first male attending a class today. Congratulations to
Flying Doctor Bill.
Bill with his lovely wife Sue attended my Graphic 45 Class this morning and did extremely well, having to cope with 14 other ladies. He was well and truly out numbered, but had the edge over them all when it came to using the scalpel.
I think he enjoyed it and hopefully we will see him again.

So Proud of My Daughter

Beth graduated from UNI SA with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Disability Studies. She started this degree while living at home and finished it while living in Sydney and working for AMP. I am so proud of her. She is the first in our family to receive a Degree from University. It was a moving experience to witness so many young and not so young people from all walks of life receiving their degrees. The reason for doing such a degree? She has a younger sister who has Downs Syndrome. Beth has always been the big sister who watches out for her little sister. They have a very special friendship, and I am so proud of them both.

Thanks for looking.

Whats News

Well so much has happened since my last post, I will have to do a couple of postings for the next couple of days to catch up! My box of Graphic 45 papers and other items arrived Friday last week. The day I flew to Sydney to teach at Beths Coffee, cake and Create (more on that later). So I only had time to open and drool all over it. I finally got to play with it on Tuesday as I have to do a project for Graphic 45 each month. My first project for Graphic 45 is now on their blog. So make sure you vist to check it out. I have a snap of some of the detail on the page to share with you.

I just love the blues/greens in the "On the Boardwalk" collection. It suited my photos of Beth so well. I love making and adding tags to my layouts, this gives me the chance to do mini works of art on each page and lets me add a lot of detail without taking away from the photos. I will be teaching this page in July.
