New Kits

Lately I have been making double male layouts for my son. So far I have three lovely double layouts which have just been released as kits.

Life is Good:

This double layout features photos of my son dressed up to the 9's at my daughters wedding. Its quite a fun double male layout featuring a mix of BoBunny and Simple stories papers. Lots of little cut outs, banners & bits and pieces in bright colours over a grungy background. Some brads and chipboard added the finishing touches.

Perfect Man

This double layout is just perfect. I used a mix of BoBunny, Kaiser and Simple stories papers. It's a great combination of aged and distressed papers and makes for a very grungy masculine layout. Fun banners, inked chipboard and assorted cogs and brads just finish the layout off nicely.

You Are Here

You are here is a fantastic double travel layout featuring a mix of BoBunny and Simple stories papers. Its quite bright and effective with a grungy undertone and lots of layers. A hint of chipboard and some clever cutting and layering brings this page together nicely. This layout could also be used as a generic/ female travel layout.

I have many other kits available on my website at Seriously Scrapbooking.

Day Three teaching at A Place To Create

Yesterday I got to spend the day at Gayle's  well set up store - A place to create. It's a lovely store with so much beautiful things to look at. Even I was distracted by all the bowls of lovely vintage lace and braids. For me it was the equivalent of a lollie bar with the person looking at it having been sugar free for a year! I had to touch and stroke all of them
First class was mixed media tags, and we all had so much fun. The two tags were quite different,  so lots of different things to do and products to play with. The first tag was had a white foundation with white laces and flowers. It looks quite beautiful and would be perfect as a wedding tag. At this point it takes a bit of courage to add the colour. All the ladies just jumped right in, and really got quite adventurous.  I really enjoyed watching their faces has the colours on their tag came together.  The second tag had a black background,  and two of Louise Nelsons peaacock feather chipboards to paint and spray.
Every one was so nice, and the mini cheese cakes for morning tea was so unexpected.
Gayle had a delicious lunch for us, then it right back into it with my second class.

As I am doing this post on my tablet,  I can't drag my photo, very frustrating. So the photo below is my Victorian tag class, and the one above my which is my evening canvas class.

The Victorian Tag class was a more traditional scrapbooking
project. So I was able to sit with the ladies at the table and just chat,. A plate of home made mud cake all helped the time pass.

Tea was a hummy gluten free pizza,  so I really felt quite spoilt.
Then it was time for the last class. 14 lovely ladies joined me to get their hands really dirty. We got to blow inks and flick paint, heat emboss chipboard, and sort out a pile of metal charms and cogs. At the start they were a bit tentative, but by the end they were flicking their paint like a pro. We used so many different mediums, textured paste, heavy white gesso, silk glaze paints, mica powder and more. It was great fun and I had a ball. The mud and cheese cakes made appearance again and when down well. So much for loosing weight for the cruise.
Gayle was so welcoming and like all the ladies I have taught for, really looked after me, checking I was drinking enough water, and making stop and sit down to eat.
It was a long but so enjoyable day. All you Queensland ladies are so nice and generous. It's a pleasure to teach and spend time with you all.
Today I am teaching at work shop wonders, as the oldest teacher, I get to go last, so now I am off to help in the other classes, will post again later today

Day 2 at TJ's Scrapping with style

Hello everyone

Had another great day teaching at Toni's wonderful store. She has the nicest workroom and air conditioning!
She definitely is a kindred spirit as Anne of green gables would say. I felt right at home in her store. It's a nice size and again packed full of lots of lovely scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies. She has one of the largest range of Imaginarium chipboard I have ever seen.
It was so wonderful catching up with an old but dear friend Belinda (old as in time, NOT age). Belinda used to do scrapbooking with me in my store in Adelaide but moved a few years ago to Queensland. Though we catch up on facebook, it's not the same as seeing each other in real time.
So back to Toni's,  she has her workroom well set up and she had everything ready for me. She runs her store the same way I do mine - her ladies can do classes or pop in and spend time in her workroom, they can work or just chat. Her store has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.  I am sure she has many lovely ladies as customers who have become friends through her.

I taught 2 classes, both were layouts and I had a great time, so I hope every attending did as well.
Everyone is so friendly and so relaxed, it must be the weather!
The first class was a layout called "little things, big memories" using papers from some of Graphic 45 older collections and a lovely title from Imaginarium designs. The ladies got to do some heat embossing, painting and more. It was to be an easy and quick layout, but due to the fact that we had plenty of time, we were able to chat heaps and take our time, which was really nice.
The evening class was a bit more full on, the ladies did a male layout which was a bit more of a challenge, (again I got to catch up with an old friend. Leonie has been doing classes with me every time I come to Queensland for a few years now, and it was lovely seeing her again).
It kept them quite busy, and for some of the time very quite. They also had some painting, inking and even a frame around their page to do. This class took a bit longer than I thought it would. But like all good scrapers they continued working on, long into the night to get it finished.
Toni's helpers even stayed on, not doing the class, but working in the background helping out, they were wonderful and a special thanks goes to them for sorting out the extra kits needed for those who missed the classes. Due to both layouts having some mixed media techniques,  these lovely ladies, painted the chipboard and some metals for all the kits, along with bagging up the extra items needed.
Thanks so much Toni for having me teach, I really enjoyed it. It was so nice chatting to you and your girls after the class. Please invite me back again soon.
Sorry if the post looks a bit funny, but I am doing it on my tablet,  so can't move the photos around.
Nearly time to leave for a day teaching at A Place to Create. I have 3 classes today, one of which is a mixed media canvas, so really looking forward to teaching it tonight.
Lastly, thanks to Alison,  for taking me opp shopping in the morning, Ikea for lunch, and Toni's in time for my classes, you are one amazing lady.
Catch up again tomorrow

Teaching in Brisbane - Day One

Day one and teaching at The Stampers Hut. The lovely karen was so welcoming and made me feel at home. Her shop is amazing, I have ever seen so much scrapbooking supplies in one small store. I taught 3 classes, starting with mon amore cards in the morning. The two gentlemen in the back row were delightful, along with all the lovely ladies in the class as well. I really enjoyed teaching them all.

My 2nd class was a by the sea billboard, which the 8 ladies who did the class enjoyed making. Again a lovely group of friendly ladies.

Lunch was supplies by the wonderful and organized Karen, who during the break even changed the classroom around so I could be under the air conditioner (85% humidity - lucky for me my hair still stays straight). Tea at a delicious Chinese restaurant, then the last class. This class was a double layout - the first one I have ever taught outside of my own store. It was so full on, I forgot to take any photos, sorry to the very busy ladies who attended. I know Karen took some.

So a full on day spent with a really lovely group of fellow scrapbooking friends. Who all seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a great time. Not everyone finished their double layout, but have all promised me faithfully that they will either email me proof that they finished or will post on facebook. Some were even going home to finish it before going to bed.
Special thanks to the lady who went home and got me a fan for which I was was very grateful for, to the lady who asked me to come back next week and teach again. To every one who wrote such lovely comments in my book and to Karen at the stampers hut, for having such lovely ladies and gents doing my classes, for feeding me and checking everything was ok.
I had a lovely day and look forward to teaching there again.
Special thanks to Alison at workshop wonders for running me around and getting me where I need to be.
Today I will be at TJS scrapping with style, teaching two single layouts, if you would like to join me, then contact her and check if their are any spare spaces.
Another great day planned.
