Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2015

Hello Everyone
It's that time again. Graphic 45 are choosing a new team. I have been privileged to be one of their Ambassadors for 2014. I'm sure everyone would be very proud to be able to say they are a Graphic 45 Ambassador, as I have been.  I have loved being an ambassador for the year, but the year is over so now I'm going to apply for the Design Team and see what happens. So you are about to see some of the work I have been doing recently and I hope you all like it.

Raining Cats & Dogs Pop-out Star Book

I love pop out books and star albums and I decided to make a book with a bit of both. I decided to use Graphic 45's Raining Cats and Dogs collection as a few of my ladies had been requesting a project for their pets. It opens out in a similar style to a star album with cover touching cover but the pages are fully adhered back to back. Each page also has a floor  which is carefully folded to enable the pop out elements on each page. Designed for a dog this book is full of happy and bright colours with lots of details and layers. There is also one of my gorgeous signature tea caddy style boxes to keep it safe.

By the Sea Star Album & Box

A beautiful original style star album with a fantastic star shape when opened out. Graphic 45's By the Sea range really lent itself to a star album with so many borders and small images to choose from. As is usual with Graphic 45 papers, it had brilliant strong colours which were perfect. I also made one of my favourite tea caddy boxes to keep it safe.

 Typography Book

Another one of my books. Using Graphic 45’s Typography collection, this book features the beautiful strong colours of the paper and all the words & images. The book is full of quotes, tags, pockets, flaps and more. There are even 2 pop out pages to add a touch of surprise. I always leave plenty of room for photos and quotes.

Patchwork Tags

Patchwork tags, these have been around for quite a while but they are still a beautiful show piece. Each tag has several elements, lots of small paper pieces, layers, images, chipboard, embellishments and plenty more. I still get people asking to do this project.

A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

I love mixing my Graphic 45 collections up and seeing what I can come up with. This layout is one I designed for a class I was teaching. I wanted to do a monochromatic layout, only using cream and black as a colour palate. I used papers from three different collections to get the right black and cream combination. I love layering all my papers together; I  just add lots of black matts between the different layers of Graphic 45’s print papers to make it all work.

Time Creates Wonderful Memories

This new “Artisan Style” collection from Graphic 45 is just beautiful. I really love the Art Deco feel to it. The colours are vibrant and strong, with a wide range of colours to work with.

Each time I get a new collection from Graphic 45, I spend time just looking at all the elements on each page. Then I turn them over and check out the backs. It’s the backs of the papers that I really love working with.

For this layout I have chosen to keep it simple. The layout doesn’t need a lot of stuff on it as the papers are so beautiful. I wanted them to be the feature, along with a special photo. So I only chose 3 print papers + the back of one of them. I had to use one of my favourite papers from another Graphic 45 collection to give me a plainer background to show off the more vibrant colours of the “Artisan” Collection. In keeping it simple, I used the back of “Decorative Flourish” for the background. I really love those Art Deco Dragonflies and as soon as I saw them, I knew I had the perfect metal charm to really set the print paper off. Next I used my favourite print paper from this collection.  “Attention to Detail” is stunning and I love both sides of this paper. I love it so much; I used it two times on this layout with the lovely floral side showing, and a third time on the other side with the blue pattern. Then it was just add chipboard, a photo and a few bits and pieces.

So there we are, it was hard to choose what to include, I could have kept going but my computer is starting to slow down a little as there are so many photos.

All the best to all those who have applied.
It has been a wonderful experience working with Graphic 45 in past years, I simply love their papers and will continue working with them whether I make the team or not.
Thanks for looking and wish me luck.
Hugs

Truly Grateful

Hello
Well I have been very busy, doing all my projects for some classes I am teaching in Brisbane mid year. Also been working on some layouts for Graphic 45 as well.
They are sharing three of my layouts on their blog today. The layouts are part of an album I am making using their beautiful "Time to Flourish" Collection. I am calling it my Gratitude album.
I just love this collection, there were so many lovely images and cut outs on the papers, just waiting for me to set them free. But they are all month related.  So what else to do with 12 beautiful monthly papers and 12 beautiful floral papers? I decided to do 12 double layouts and to make an album of them. But I still wasn’t sure what theme I should use. There isn’t always a special event every month, and even if there is, all the layouts in an album need to fit together smoothly.
After a lot of thought – the idea of a gratitude album came to mind. Each month I am going to take photos of the people, places and events for which I am grateful.
I am going to do a double layout to help me remember and celebrate. Sometimes we lose track of just how blessed we are and forget those in less fortunate circumstances than our selves. Our life can seem to be hard, people can let us down. Things crowd in around us and it is easy to feel it’s all getting too much. This album it to celebrate those moments, that lift the soul and help us appreciate how grateful we are for what we have.

So I am going to share with you the layouts and you will need to head over to Graphic 45 for the full story I wrote for each month.

So January's layout is on my husbands family farm.

February's layout is on Anna who turned 30 this year.

March's layout was for an afternoon tea I held for a group of friends.
I am doing a layout for every month this year to record the people, events and moments for which I am grateful and Graphic 45 will be sharing them on their blog.
I am hoping to get them into kits with step by step instructions.
So thanks for looking.
Hugs
Jane

Graphic 45 Blog Featuring Live Laugh Love Layout

Hello Everyone
Graphic 45 have just done a blog post to kick off National Craft month featuring 10 great tips.

Make sure you go have a peek to get a few new ideas. This is their blog http://g45papers.typepad.com/
As one of their tips they have featured my Live Laugh Love layout to encourage layering and mixing their paper ranges. Such an honour!
I have used this page for a photo of my four beautiful daughters, taken at my youngest daughters wedding but it will suit any photo or event where laughter and love happens.
I used papers from three different collections, along with lots of amazing chipboard from Imaginarium Designs.
I have even made kits for this beautiful layout and they can be purchased from the website of Seriously Scrapbooking http://www.seriouslyscrapbooking.net.au/.

Thanks so much for looking.
Hugs
