Now we Wait

I know my project has arrived at Graphic 45. Now we wait, I keep telling myself I only have to wait two weeks to find out if I made it through. I'm not good at waiting. So it's going to be a long two weeks. I am delighted to have made it to the second round so what ever the outcome, I am happy. I love the project I sent them and hope they like it too. Its always hard to know what to make as you don't really know what the people judging are looking for. Any way its out of my hands now. I dug up another of my older layouts for you. This one has photos of Josh & Malc taken at Sea World on the Gold Coast. I hate the rides, but they loved them. I spent the day taking photos and waiting at the bottom of nearly every ride there.

It's still missing one small photo of the kids + husband on the Bermuda triangle ride. I must confess to have a thing about clocks and time pieces. On this page I have stamped and embossed some and even added a watch class with clock bits floating around inside it (top right hand corner).

Well it's time to start working on the new time table and newsletter - so back to work.

My Graphic 45 Project has left!

My final piece for the Graphic 45 design team final challenge has just left. I have spent the past 6 days working on it. It's all top secret, so I can't disclose what it is just yet. Some of you may have been lucky enough to see me working on it. Keep it a secret, just between ourselves.
Once the 1st of April has passes and I find out if I made it, I will have some photos to share. I am really happy with it and can say it is my best work to date. I thought it would be hard to part with as I don't get it back. But I am glad that I will get to share it with a whole lot of lovely ladies in the states. I know from looking at photos from CHA that they must use some of the projects they receive for displays at the show.
Who knows maybe I'll look one year and see my project on display there.

Another Favorite

So another of my older layouts to share with you. This was one I sent to the Scrapbooking Memories Master last year. It a quick layout to do and went together perfectly. I find that the ones that I do quickly, eg. under 3 hours a layout, work the best and I love what I have done. If I have to spent more than 3 hours, then something is not quite right and I will often start again. I used a K&Co die cut paper with a collage press die cut. The title is chipboard - inked and glimmermisted. The journaling for each of my children includes their name, where they are in the family and their strengths as I see them. When I shared this with them, they all had to agreed that I had them all worked out. Hello - am not a mother for nothing!

Special thanks to the Graphic 45 ladies/Gents? who looked at my work and kindly put me into the the top 20. Another pinch, still can't believe it. Well no matter what the out come is I feel very special and honored to be in such great company with so many other talented Ladies. Still waiting to hear what the final project is to be. Itching to get started on it, as I have to have mine in USA in a couple of weeks time. Then another wait till April to find out who the lucky Ladies are. So putting my feet back on the ground and head out of the clouds, - I taught two classes today. The first was my 7G Printers tray using K&Co's Blossomwood paper/Embellishments. I will be repeating this class later in the year. Note the bird's nest - hand made!

And in keeping with my promise to post some of my old projects! Here is a set of 7g Draws I made for Kate. First draw is for age 0-5, second draw for 6-10 and the third draw ages 11-15. Each one has a set of cards with photos and journaling.

Its Graphic 45 Time

Graphic 45 have had their design team call close this week. I love their papers, so I just had to have a go. I needed to send photos of 10 projects by 1st of march. I have done 5 layouts, a box with an album with photos of Leah and Stewarts wedding inside it. I did a mini book using one of their 8x8 pads and a 7Gypiesy book on Joshua. I made another of my books which is to be on my Dad. I also did a 12x12 piece called "patch work of my Family" using lots of my collection squares. Very happy with all the pieces. Now we just wait and see.

Every couple of days I am going to start putting up some of my favorite older layouts. I have 100's of layouts and would love to share some with you, so keep in touch. If you like what you see, then think about going a Jane's Page Class at the shop!

Here are some photo's from our daughter Leah's wedding. Special thanks to Verity for taking them. There are over 300 to choose from. Every one of them is just stunning. Our beautiful daughter looks so happy in them all. Can't wait to see Andrew Weller's photo's. Will post some more in a day or two.

I'm so slack!

Everyone has been asking for some photos of the wedding. I didn't take any myself, what with being "Mother of the Bride" and catering I just didn't get time. So I only have some photos that friends took. No full length shots of the bride or mother of the bride. You are all going to have to wait until I get some more. Its been quiet, with our Leah not home now, but busy. Although the wedding is over, life still seems as full as ever. We had our scrapbooking and paper craft fair last weekend. Too much fun for all. I did make and takes all day with Josh and Nat filling in for me at times. Check out the Seriously scrapbooking blog and Nat's blog for some photos. I had my first go at being film for TV and really enjoyed the whole process. It went way too quick. It was nice that so many of you came to say hello at the fair. I am having some me time at the moment, having done my first Altered Art Medium Tag class tonight. It went really well, thanks to Pam, Kathy, Janeen, Kate, Kathy and Jan for attending, project unseen. Will post a photo to share the tag with you all tomorrow. Nat and I caught up with Michelle and Lynette from Printblocks today. They had traveled to Adelaide to show us all the new product lines from CHA 2010. We went a bit over board and ordered lots. We will be taking pre-orders for some of the new lines. Due to the interest in Tim Holtz's embossing folders and die cuts, we suggest that you consider pre-ordering them with us. This will help us work out how many we need and ensure that we order enough. Lynette has confirmed she will be doing 3 classes for us. We are just confirming the dates with her and will let you know as soon as possible. We will be limiting the class size, so you will need to book in and pay a deposit to ensure your place in her classes. Lynette for those who don't know is a wonderful Lady from USA. We can claim her as our own as she was born in Tasmania. She has taught with Heidi Swapp and Tim Holtz. We are very lucky to have her come and share her special talents with us. She was on the design team for K&Company for many years and has taught all over the states. It is now well pass midnight and I have a full day tomorrow teaching, two classes in one day sure takes it out of a lady. Will try to post more and include photos

Three Days to Go

So with only three days to go until the wedding, I spent the day making 50 meringue nests. They turned out bigger than what I wanted. They are the size of the saucer and 2 1/2 high. Quite a mouth full. They taste yummy and with cream and fresh strawberries will be perfect as one of the deserts. They are easy to make. Just 4 egg whites and 1 1/4 cups of caster sugar. You just put all of it into a bowl and beat for 15 minutes. No adding the sugar slowly spoon full by spoon full. Just set your mixer on high and go and whip a quick scrapbooking layout and come back to find it thick and ready to put on the tray. Cook for a couple of hours at 120. Sue has asked for my sausage roll recipe and German relish recipe. I will put it up next week, when things settle down. Tomorrow more finger food. Whipping cream with vanilla yogurt for the brandy baskets and raspberry sauce to make. A bit more cleaning of house and then collapse into bed. On the back front or is that a back to front way of putting it! Holding up is all I can say, very stiff and sore but no spasms.

Here is the Recipe

Well I got 180 made for the wedding.

Chicken and Aspargaus Puffs

4 sheets ready rolled puff pastry

1 cup chopped cooked chicken

1/2 drained canned asparagus

2 tablespoons sour cream

2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

50g tasty cheese finely chopped

1 egg lightly beaten

Cut each pastry sheet into 4 strips, cut each strip crossways to give 3 rectangles. Roll each rectangle on a lightly floured surface to an 8cmx10xcm rectangle..

Combine chicken, asparagus, sour cream, chives and cheese in a bowl. Spoon a level teaspoon of the mixture onto each pastry rectangle, lightly brush edges with egg, fold in long sides, fold in ends. Place pastries seam side down on glad bake on an oven tray. Brush pastries with egg, bake in moderately hot oven for about 15 minutes or until lightly browned

Makes 48. You can make them 3 hours before needed and cook just before serving or freeze cooked pastries and reheat when needed.

It's Working!!

I think I worked out what happened. A visitor Counter I had added to the blog had a link back to their site that let them send a comment advert for their gambling site. How dare they! My side bar vanished from their counter and under. From when I received their comment on my blog , the blog stopped working. Be warned everyone and chose carefully what you add. So our daughters wedding is now only one week away. I am home today from the shop and making Chicken and Asparagus Puffs. I will share the recipe with you all later today with a photo. These little bite size bits are very moorish and one is not enough. I am making 200 for the wedding and 20 for the kids to eat now.

Having Trouble with the Blog

Hi Everyone
Having trouble with the blogs. As you can see mine is boring. The template will not load and I am unable to change the background colour. Also I have lost all my gadgets from side of the page. Hopefully someone out there will have an idea as to how to fix it. If not fingers crossed that it fixes it self and one day when I log on, like magic it will all work!! The Seriously Scrapbooking one has its own set of problems.
Don't you hate computers. Its OK when it all works but when it doesn't, frustration does not describe the feels I have had today.
