Graphic 45 Design Team 2014 Audition

Hello Eveyone.
It has been a while since I last posted, I have had so much going on and have just lost track of time. I haven't been slack or anything. I have done a lot of projects using Graphic 45 along with lots of teaching. But I have been eagerly waiting for Graphic 45 to announce their 2014 design team call. I enjoyed my three years with them so much that I am trying out for the team again. I have had a whole year off from their team and missed it so much. I have a year of Graphic 45 projects that I have been teaching in my store and interstate, also a years worth of projects that have been published in two of Australia's magazines to share.
I love all things Graphic 45, books, cards, layout and off the page projects. I just love making anything with Graphic 45. The colours, images and papers are perfect for my style of scrapbooking.
For my Design Team Audition post I have put together some my favourite Graphic 45 projects from 2013.

This is my French Country Book, it is about 9 1/2 inches wide x 11 inches high. It is also 3 inches thick. It has 7 double pages and two singles.

I have spent the last two months writing instructions for this book, so I can sell a kit online. It has been a big job. Lots of the pages have flaps, pockets and fold out pieces. I wish I could show it all to you. I love this collection, the colours and images are so perfect to work this and this book is just lovely.
I love making books from scratch, so in 2013 I made 5 books in total.

This was another favourite collection from Graphic 45, again the colours and words were perfect for this book. I am writing the instructions for this book at the moment.

This book has a fold out part to it at the front, which allows me to have some pop out elements. The lady from "Steampunk Spells" worked so well as a pop up.

Again the colours are so rich and the words, wow I love words. So I fell in love with this collection  as soon as I laid my eyes on it.

This was a project I did for Australian Scrapbook Ideas. It is one of our Australian Magazines.
They shared two pages each month along with the box that the finished book goes in.

It was quite a big project with a book 10x10 inches and the box. I designed it for the women in our family. It has pockets and tags, along with a fold out dress form mini book. I know for a fact that over 70 women made this project as I sold kits for it. I used all the beautiful papers from "A Ladies Diary" which was just perfect.

This book is called the Mae West Quote Book. I design it using Graphic 45's Couture Collection. You need a whole 12x12 pad for this project. Again lots of flaps, tags and fold out pages.

It has a pop element at the back and front of the book.  I am working on instructions for this book.
Layouts are also a favourite of mine. I teach a Graphic 45 layout every month in my store. I seem to do mainly male layouts, but I do female as well.

One for Kate using French Country. Simple but lovely. Kate helps me with kits and instructions for all my projects. She takes the photos or is my hand model! So the young hands with the beautiful engagement ring is her.

Second love after Graphic 45 - Chipboard and Metals, perfect combination. View from Alcatraz Dinning Room Window. Taken when I visited in 2012.

The Famous Tim Holtz with Josh at CHA 2012.

Lots of lovely bits and pieces on this layout.
Josh on the Mad Hatters ride at Disney Land 2012.
Josh always features in my male layouts, as he is my only boy. I now have two son's in law, so you may see some new male faces this year. One of the best things about Graphic 45 is the fact that you can mix collections. I love doing this, the above layout has papers from three collection including Steampunk Spells, Steampunk Debutant and Couture!
This one is for my daughter Leah, again the collection was not a wedding collection at all, but still works so well with this photo. It is the words in "Typography" collection that I love so much.

Another layout using Steampunk Spells. I loved this collection even though it was Halloween which we don't really do here in Australia.

This was a very special project and I taught it in my store. I also took it to the Brisbane Scrapbooking and papercraft expo and it was a huge hit. I found these extra large glass dome and had Imaginarium Designs make me a chipboard diorama to go inside it. I was inspired by  Victorian Domes, that were all the rage during Queen Victoria. People would have all kinds of things under domes, flowers, stuffed animals, minerals and more.  I decided to make mine with 8 compartments and do it for my family. Josh designed me a tree, that would "Grow" up the diorama and wrap around it. There are four of them.
 This is Josh's Room.
This room, is for my children and has photos of them when they were little.

This is the attic and still needs lots more bits and pieces added to it. If you look carefully you may see a   flying pig!

 Another upstairs room.

All the trees have quotes on them to do with family and memories. There are also charms hanging from the trees as well.
The glass dome is about 9 inches wide and 18 inches high. It also has a box base (covered with G45 Paper) with a little motor in it. This moves the hole dome around slowly. Just like Magic.

This was another project I did in 2013. This one was for Scrapbook Creations, another of our Australian Magazines. Each month they featured one of the tag sets with instructions. So you could make them if you wanted to. The project needed 55 tags, so I had to design 12 different  kits.

This was the first kit in the collection and I used papers from Little Darlings, one of my favourite paper collections, so sad to see if go.

A male set, this project was made for Leah and Stewart (Son in Law) and so this set is for Stewart

A set of tags for Leah. The finished project had room for lots of little photos, so I included photos from their wedding but also ones of them growing up. As their life changes I can update photos to suit.
The tags are quite small, about 2 inches wide x 2 1/2 inches high. The are great fun to make and quite addictive.

The other thing I did in 2013 was start teaching Card Classes. I keep telling my ladies that I am not a card maker, I just do mini layouts, pop up books and my books but card size. They love it so I must be doing something right.
Flat cards are a bit "flat" for me. So I do mine with pop out elements for at touch of surprise! when you open them.
First up this a pop card from Graphic 45's By The Sea collection. I have fallen in love with this collection. It arrived Thursday and by Saturday I had two pop cards + star mini album and box nearly finished.
I use this pop element in my books, sometimes I use it as an inside front or back surprise, like in the Mae West book. But it works so well for cards. I am writing instructions for two cards using "By the Sea" as you read.

The layout I did on Josh and Tim was so popular that I was asked to adapted  it for a card class. It worked so well. I did three cards but have used one for a birthday already.

The Couture collection had so many beautiful elements that just needed some fussy cutting, which to my card ladies disgust I made them cut. I did three cards in this set. I have done instructions for these so  keep in touch.

These cards are folded and  made so you have two layers to them. This gives them a 3D effect.

Again another card with the pop element, using an older Graphic 45 Collection.

Another 3D card, part of a three card set using Steampunk Spells.

 A Christmas set of cards.
There is lots more to share as I had a very busy year but this will have to do for now.
So here it goes.
Wish me luck.
Hugs
Jane
PS Please leave me a message and I will chose someone to receive one of my kits.

Lots To Share Today

Hello Eveyone
Well it's been quite a while since I last posted. So much has been happening. First I have been flat out getting lots of Graphic 45 projects done for publishing in Australian Magazines.

Scrapbooking Creations is publishing my Tags project. Each second month they are putting one of the instructions for a kit in their magazine. The other month it is online at their website. So over 12 months you will get to make 62 tags.
Seriously Scrapbooking is selling my kits at their online store for this project.

Australian Scrapbook Ideas is the other magazine publishing my work at the moment.
I have designs a book for them called the Women in Our Family. It is a 10x 10 inch board book  using papers from A Ladies Diary. Each magazine they have the instructions for two double pages.
Seriously Scrapbooking is also selling kits for this project as well.

I am so teaching at Brisbane at the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo June long weekend. I still have room for more in two of my projects.

The first one which is in the morning each day, is a tag project in a shadow box. You will get to make 7-9 decorative tags.

To book in and join me for any of my classes just click on the link.

The Middle of the day class is a layout. I love the Imaginarium Chipboard 12 x12 inch Moroccan screen I have used for the back ground.

Although the title is Bon Appetit, this layout will work well with any photo.
My last class is book out. It is a male layout and I just love the colours.

I will be selling it in a kit after the fair, once I am back and have had a chance to catch my breath.

I have been delighted with the response to my kits. They are going all over the world, with lots in New Zealand doing them. It is great getting phone calls from Ladies all over Australia who are enjoying the projects as well. I love chatting with them and hearing how much they enjoy doing them or who the are making them for.

Lastly, Graphic 45 will be saying Goodbye to me on their blog on Friday (out time). I can not tell you how sad I am to be saying goodbye, especially as living there in Australia, I will not get to see them again to thank them personally for all they have done of me. I have loved my three years with them. They are an amazing group of Ladies and Gents. Who touch the lives of so many of us with their wonderful and beautiful papers and embellishments. Although they don't know us, they get to share in so many important events in our lives each time we use their papers for our special projects.
I will continue my love affair with Graphic 45 even though I am no longer part of team.
So be warned Graphic 45, I have some amazing projects which I have not sent to you yet, as I am still working on them. So I will continue to send projects to you in the hope you will share them on the blog.
Let's hope this year passes quickly so I can re-apply again next year.
I would especially like to thank Diane for being so wonderful. I would love to spend another week on your couch watching Downton Abby with you again.
thanks
Jane

Graphic 45's online tutorial - page 7

Hello Everyone.
It's that time of the month again. Graphic 45 have posted the next page of my book on their blog. The full instructions are on their blog, along with links for the other 6 pages. This page is based on a layout I did for Graphic 45 a while ago. I liked it so much I have included it in my book. The butterflies just seem to be flying off the page.

You can download the full tutorial as a PDF on their website.
If you have been wanting to make one of my books, then this is your chance. The tutorials take forever to write and take the photo's. It's not something I will be doing again at this stage.
You can follow the instructions online or buy a kit at Seriously Scrapbooking. Each kit comes with all the chipboard inked or sprayed. Instructions are included (in colour). All you need to have is your own tape and glue. A brown ink pad is a must. Just click on the link below and it will take you to their website.

The other project I want to share with you all, is one I am doing with Scrapbook Creations. They are an Australian Magazine. The finished project is made up of 62 tags. The frame is from Ikea and is a 50cm x 50cm shadow box frame.  Each month I will be doing a tutorial for them. It will be on making 5 beautifully decorated tags. I will be using Graphic 45 papers from lots of their different collections.

The above photo is of the finished project. You will be making the 62 tags over 12 months.

This is the first set of tags, this collection is for babies. I have design a lovely set of tags using Graphic 45 papers and chipboard from Imaginarium Designs.

You will have some tags left over, so I will be doing a mini project for a tag each month as well. This month it is a matchbox keepsake set of draws. Scrapbook Creations have the mini project on their blog.
Seriously Scrapbooking is selling these kits online for me. You can also buy them from their store on Goodwood rd as well. Each kit includes all the chipboard, embelishments, instructions and papers, which are pre cut for you. All you need is tape, glue and inks + your own tools. The kit for the first set is $24.

Happy Australia Day Everyone

Hello Everyone
It's Australia Day today and Imaginarium Designs is taking part in a blog hop. Some of the Ladies on their design team are doing posts today showing their work.

I decided to share of the my projects I have been doing over the past few months and have not go around to showing on my blog. I have been doing some card classes in my store and been sharing these projects on 3L Scrapbooking Adhesives Blog. If you click on the link you will find them all there along with another 10 projects. I have done a lot of them as step by steps tutorials. So if you have the time, then visit their blog
3L Scrapbook Adhesive

The first two cards were ones I did using Graphic 45's Once a upon a Time Collection. I used the July Cut Apart sheets as there was a big of a beach theme. It was a very hot week in Adelaide over 40 and I needed a trip to the beach. Couldn't make it, so making beach cards seemed to be the next best thing.

I though this one would make a nice male card. I used Imaginarium Designs chipboard for my title which I sprayed black.

This was a card for Halloween. It has a shadow box frame around it. To do this I used lots of foam squares from 3L. I put a full tutorial for making this card on their blog. The chipboard tree is one from Imaginarium Designs.
This is a wedding card I made for a young couple I knew. I love the simplicity of this card. It was quite easy to make but looks so classy. I used one of Martha Stewart's border punches and managed to make it fit my card.

This is a page I did for Josh. I had some photos of him on the mad hatters ride at Disneyland and used some of Graphic 45's Halloween in Wonderland papers to do this page. The clock, corners and title are all from Imaginarium Designs.

I know none of my projects are very Australian, but this time last year, I was on a plane flying to CHA with Josh. We left Australia on Australia Day, so I am feeling a bit sad that I am not going to the states again.
I do have some exciting new to share with you all.
I am teaching at the Melbourne Expo being held early March. I hope to set up a link on my page for this as you can book into my class now. I am only doing one class a day and it will be an altered art project.
I am also teaching at the Brisbane Expo being held June long weekend. I will be doing three classes a day there.
For those of you who have been doing my Patchwork pieces, have you caught up with the news that thought the magazine has finished publishing the monthly project. I am still teaching them in my store and Seriously Scrapbooking is still selling the kits online. Kit 13 was released this month with kit 14 due mid February.
Scrapbook Creations has asked me to do another project for them that will take all year. This time is it mini tags in a frame. I have designed 60 tags to go into a frame. The first kit in ready and Seriously Scrapbooking has it for sale online. Scrapbook Creations will be showing a photo of the finished project on their website in February and in their March Magazine. I have the finished project in the shop and am getting lots of comments.
I am also doing an all year project with Australian Scrapbook Ideas. It will be starting in their first magazine this year. Seriously Scrapbooking will also be selling kits of this project.
So if you like my work then this is your year to do one of my projects in a kit form. I don't like writing instructions so having to do two magazines along with my projects for Graphic 45 and 3L each month is a major feat for me and shows how much I like sharing my work with you all.
I have met so many lovely people doing my kits all over Australia and now over seas with quite a few Ladies in New Zealand, USA and the UK doing my projects by kit form.
Also have some very exciting news this week, but can't share just yet. Will let you know as soon as I can.
Well this is quite a long post for me.
Have a Happy and Safe Australia day

thanks for stopping by

PS Just sent Graphic 45 the tutorial for page 7! Will be sharing it on my blog on Wednesday.

Sneak Peeks from Graphic 45

Graphic 45 are getting ready for CHA. This year I will not be attending, so wish I could be there but maybe next time.
Graphic 45 are going to start sharing images from their new collection 'Secret Garden" on their blog on Friday.
I have not seen this collection yet as my box is still coming from USA. Not sure when it will arrive but that this rate, it's going to be a struggle to make the projects for CHA and have time to send them back the USA by the time Graphic 45 need them. I have a very special project planned for this collection so I can't wait to get my hands on it.
